NHS Covid-19 INFORMATION
A message from NLSMC to all musicians, actors, artists
and creative thinkers in a time of crisis:
We cannot be silenced. Music and theatre and art has not been taken from us. The virus will not cause us to fade. We will emerge stronger and more creative and more innovative than ever. We do not know when we will return to any semblance of "normality". We do not even know if we will still desire what we had before. But we can take comfort in the knowledge that new ways of performing, of expressing and delivering our messages are already happening. Desperate hope will, before not too long, turn into an exciting and inspiring frontier where we will learn to grow and become more free and happier than we have ever been and nobody or no-thing can take this from us. The new world we are about to enter will need less industrialists and bankers and politicians and more artists, and dancers and poets and musicians and lovers and healers.
This is the world we look forward to.

And The People Stayed Home by Kitty O'Meara
"And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed".

W H E N C H A N G E H A P P E N S:
We are living in strange and uncertain times. Many of us have experienced hardship, loss of loved ones, loss of income, loss of freedom, loss of hope. These are very real experiences and no matter how hard we may try to think positive thoughts it can be very difficult not to feel concern and anxiety at this time. So let us think for a few moments about accepting, perhaps even welcoming, change.
The world may or may not return to what it was before and this brings to us unsettling and negative thoughts. A fear of the unknown. A fear of change. But there is no need to fear. When we accept and embrace change as inevitable, we begin to move forward with our lives with the understanding that what we are experiencing is a sequence of events locked in a particular moment in time. This time will pass. To come out of this hardship far stronger and more determined than ever before, enabling us to thrive rather than survive, we need to welcome change, no matter how difficult this may, at first, seem.
Change in many cases is a positive set of circumstances, changing our thoughts, changing our actions and therefore, changing our world. When we change inwardly, we change our outer reality as well. If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, well, we aren't really living. When we make changes in our lives, we give ourselves a second chance.
