It is not easy, but something has happened to motivate you to start the journey. A sequence of unpleasant events, perhaps, or one big explosion. You were of course already aware of the dangers of continuing to dance with charlie, the growing paranoia, the increased risk of heart attack or stroke, the loss of (real) friends, the strain on those who mean the most to you. Shall we go on? How about the destructive impulses, the deceit, the constant agitation, the obvious depletion of funds, the list is endless. Self-loathing? Maybe not yet, but it will happen we can absolutely assure you. None of this, of course, has ever deterred you. Until now.
It is worth contemplating the fact that two opposing forces are at work here, two players locked in eternal conflict: the addict and the self. The self is the emotional attachment we all have with our inner personality, providing the basis of our identity and shaping our character. Over time, the self becomes an ever-evolving set of behaviours, emotions and beliefs: some constructive and progressive, others harmful and damaging. The addictive part of our personality has as its basis the perfectly reasonable desire we all have to get through life with as little pain and as much pleasure as possible.
The longer the struggle between the self and the addict, the more powerful the addict becomes until, ultimately, it takes over the dual personality and becomes the most dominant force. For a detailed explanation of this process, please click on the image below:
So, how can we at NLSMC help you? The first thing to ask yourself is: “do I really want to quit?” This is one of the most important questions you will ever ask. If you are going through the motions of seeking help simply because someone close wants you to, if you are contacting us just to keep the peace or to satisfy others when, really, you see nothing wrong with your continued usage then, quite simply, we will not be able to help. You yourself have to want to quit.
The next step is to contact us to arrange a 30-minute free initial consultation over the phone. We will explain in detail how we can help you based on your current circumstances. You have absolutely nothing to lose by taking this action and you are under no obligation to start the treatment programme, which consists of a total of five-sessions, one per week for five weeks. We have two London centres: Islington N1 and Muswell Hill N10 though due to the current pandemic, we are at the present moment only seeing people across the Skype, Zoom or WhatsApp platforms.
You will not be required to quit your usage until the fourth session.
The charge per session is £80 and includes, in addition to the one-hour meetings, numerous pdf documents and three studio-quality recordings
The treatment itself is technique-driven, based on 30 years’ experience helping people overcome addiction. It is not a 12-step programme. We incorporate gestalt psychology, NLP, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotional freedom techniques (EFT), psycho-cybernetics, mindfulness and hypnosis. We give you back your control.
